# Frequently asked questions

> Answers about installing SiriusMarkdown, supported platforms, streaming, math, diagrams, export, and licensing.

## What is SiriusMarkdown?

SiriusMarkdown is a native Markdown rendering SDK for SwiftUI apps. It renders documents and streaming replies with tables, highlighted code, LaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams, images, and selection. See the [features](https://siriusmarkdown.com/features/) and [native rendering examples](https://siriusmarkdown.com/gallery/).

## Which platforms and Swift versions does it support?

The binary SDK supports macOS 13 or later, iOS and iPadOS 16 or later, and visionOS 1 or later. It requires Swift 6.3 or later. See [installation requirements](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/getting-started/#requirements).

## How do I add it to my app?

Add `https://github.com/mikhutchinson/siriusmarkdown-commercial.git` through Swift Package Manager, then select the `SiriusMarkdown` product for your app target. The package supplies compiled XCFrameworks and public Swift interfaces. The [getting started guide](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/getting-started/) includes static-document and streaming examples.

## Does it use a web view?

Markdown renders through native SwiftUI and Apple text APIs. Supported HTML is sanitized and converted into native content. Scripts, embedded web pages, and arbitrary CSS are not executed. See [policies and safety](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/policies/).

## Can I render replies as an AI model streams them?

Yes. Append chunks to `MarkdownRenderSession` and observe its prepared snapshot in `StreamingMarkdownView`. Completed regions retain their identity while incoming text updates the active tail. Call `finish()` when the reply ends. See the [streaming guide](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/streaming/).

## Are math and Mermaid diagrams included?

Yes. Supported LaTeX expressions and Mermaid blocks render natively by default. Unsupported expressions or diagram syntax remain available as source text. The [math and diagrams guide](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/math-and-diagrams/) describes the supported syntax and required framework resources.

## Can readers select text and export a PDF?

Readers can select across blocks, copy Markdown and plain text, and search a document. On macOS, text-flow PDF export preserves selectable text and links. Reader-page export on macOS and iPadOS captures the presentation as raster PDF pages, without selectable text or link annotations. See [selection and export](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/selection-and-export/).

## Does it fetch images or site icons automatically?

Public HTTPS images and site icons load anonymously by default through bounded loaders. Your app can disable either, replace their policies, and supply access to document-relative images. See [resource policies](https://siriusmarkdown.com/docs/policies/).

## What license does SiriusMarkdown use?

SiriusMarkdown uses Commercial SDK License 1.0. Read the [license](https://siriusmarkdown.com/license/) for the full terms and licensing contact. Third-party components retain their own licenses.

## Where can I find the API reference or report a problem?

Browse the [API reference](https://siriusmarkdown.com/api/documentation/siriusmarkdown/) for public types and methods. Report SDK issues in the [public distribution repository](https://github.com/mikhutchinson/siriusmarkdown-commercial/issues), including the SDK version, platform, and a small Markdown example that reproduces the problem.
